Subject: Denton County ALR Hearing On 9/28/2020 / E-mail From The Arresting Officer After Being Cross-Examined
Good Afternoon Sir,
I wanted to thank you for today. It was challenging, it was frustrating, but I’m grateful for the experience. You highlighted several items in my report that needed to be better. While my reports have improved as a fairly new officer, you have motivated me to be better. That was by far the most prepared and detailed a Defense Attorney has ever been for any ALR I have had. These matters should never be taken lightly, and I assure you I do not take them lightly.
Mr. Trichter I applaud your dedication to demanding high standards. I am not sure if it is common to hear this from Officers, but I think every cog in the criminal justice system needs to hold each other to a high standard, and you revealed aspects of my investigation and report that need improvement. I need to be better than the threshold of my supervisors.
Thank you again for the experience.
Respectfully,
Officer not named for his/her protection
Patrol Officer, Intoxilyzer Operator
